Karen Goa

Karen's eye for bold palettes and geometric shapes transforms colour and the luminous play of light through glass into quirky, surprising fused glass artworks. Her random acts of glass cutting are inspired by such everyday delights as a favourite cushion, light through a leaf, or a derelict shed leaning in a paddock.
Originally a hospital pharmacist, then a medical writer and freelance journalist/photographer, Canadian-born Karen first picked up a glass cutter at the Ponsonby Arstation as a student of renowned New Zealand glass artist Isla Osborne. Karen produces decorative tiles, plates and jewellery glassworks from her North-Shore based studio GoaGlassArt.
