Joanne graduated from Wanganui UCOL with a Bachelor of Fine Art Degree in 2005. Since then she has continued to explore the medium of hot glass. "It is both challenging and seductive. The results one can achieve are extremely satisfying"
Joanne has a long standing interest in domestic hand crafts. She draws inspiration from her craft heritage and female identity. At times, this influence can be seen literally within her work and at others it lingers subtly in the background. "I enjoy creating an oject that the viewer can relate to and make a connection with".
