Jenny Judge
I make "traveling vessels" that are metaphors for the journeys and directions that I/we take. Glass offers layers of interpretation because the materials and processes used in Kiln casting contain both strength and fragility. I am interested in the balance between finished and unfinished, reflective and opaque, transparency and solidity. But above all it is the whimsy in these pieces that I find endearing.
I also create installations containing a multitude of small pieces that are made from a variety of materials and processes, including kiln-casting. These reflect time and daily routine, and are installed to involve the viewer with not only the object, but with the fleeting shadows that they create. |
