Di Tocker
|
Di Tocker is absolutely passionate about glass, working in the many areas of this challenging medium for 19 years. In 2002 Di completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (major Glass) at RMIT University in Melbourne.
At this time Di started work on a figurative series, often featuring forms of mountain or rock. Di say's "These piece's describe the aspirations of contentment with solitude and courage to stand up to the world's challenges. The work also speaks of individuality, of not being afraid to choose a journey of one's own making".
In 2007 Di began 'Chapter 2' of her career in Cast Glass and is currently working on a new body of work; The Soft Form Series, through which Di will explore conversations about relationships both in our environment and with each other.
Di Tocker currently creates Cast Glass Objects and undertakes Glass Mosaic Commissions. To safisfy her love of sharing information Di also tutors Cast Glass courses. These are currently held in Hamilton. To find out more about Di's glass work and courses visit her website www.dicast.co.nz
