Brian Chrystall

Brian B Chrystall is a professional sculptor. His works, in either glass or copper are largely "Realist", exhibiting a strong bias for natural forms and contours.
Brian's cast glass sculptures offer a fresh and distinctly New Zealand take on the interface of light and form. His works are primarily biomorphic - the curvature and colours combine strength and warmth.
Indulging creative interests is costly in time but semi-retirement after 30 years of full time work allows Brian the opportunity to let loose his creative drive. It provides him with a lot of personal satisfaction but also it gives him great joy to see his creations in copper and cast glass being appreciated by others. He is keen to develop with other glass artists and has formed a glass artists support group in Auckland.
