Andrew Firth

Flame-working and the medium of glass suit me because of the fine detail I can achieve using this method. I have always had the dream of working with small scale but intricate pieces of glass, and when I started doing beadwork I was able to accomplish this.
I have been influenced over the years by various glass artists, the early work of Hans Godo Frabel for his organic simplicity, and later the bead work of Norikazu Kogure, and Kawakita Yuuka.
The occasional trip to Japan and other countries has also been an important part of my development as a bead artist, being able to visit Bead Galleries and other bead-makers has had a very influential effect on my current and will continue into my future work.
